Ridgewood, located in Bergen county, is situated next to Glen Rock, Midland Park, and Ho-Ho-Kus and is close to many other towns that offer great things. It is a mainly affluent town with many beautiful houses and a great small town feel. Ridgewood has a great downtown part of town where there are many shops and restaurants to go to. There are many kinds of restaurants in Ridgewood offering food from many cultures from Greek/ Mediterranean to Italian, Chinese, Japanese, and middle eastern. Some of the most notable are Novo, Latour, and S. Egidio.
Ridgewood’s public school system has three elementary schools, two middle schools, and one main high school, all of which are ranked very well, with the public high school being ranked 25th in all New Jersey by US News and World Report for 2016. In addition to the high school, there are many private schools for both girls and boys that are nearby such as Don Bosco, Immaculate Heart Academy, and Holmstead School.
Ridgewood has a very active recreational department offering many sports such as soccer, football, baseball, and lacrosse. The high school also offers very strong athletic programs most notably football and lacrosse.
Ridgewood also has an extremely convenient train station located in the middle the downtown area. The train line offers train to New York city as well as central and south jersey. Bus Stops are available throughout the town. Ridgewood also has a Village Taxi service which is a convenient option.
The town itself host many events throughout the year including a farmer’s market that is there almost every Saturday, a film festival in the spring, and an Art in the Park event in early September.
