Mahwah

Mahwah is a large town that borders the New Jersey, New York state line, and is next to Ramsey, Allendale, Wyckoff, And Ringwood. Mahwah is home to several state and county parks such as Campgaw Mountain Reservation, a great place for skiing, snowboarding, and tubing, and the Ramapo Valley County Reservation, a great place for taking hikes and hanging out.

As far as the public schooling goes in Mahwah, there are 4 elementary schools, three of which are k-3 and on 4-5, and one middle school. There is a public high school in Mahwah, but there are many other options for high school as well including, private schools for boy and girls like Don Bosco or Immaculate Heart Academy, and either of the Bergen County Technical schools, like Bergen County Academies, which has a tradition of great academics.   Mahwah even has a local college right in town, Ramapo College which is a public university with more than 6,000 students.

Mahwah has two major highways that run right through town, Route 17 and Route 287, both of which connects it to New York and the rest of New Jersey. Mahwah offers an NJ transit rail service from its own train station, and an express service straight across the New York Line at the same station. There is also Short Line/Coach bus service that takes passengers right into the Port Authority Bus Terminal.

Mahwah has a strong recreational department and offers many sports for all the seasons. Traditionally, Mahwah has had strong baseball and basketball teams and are on the come up in many others. Mahwah has easy access to many malls including both Garden State Plaza and Paramus Park Mall in nearby Paramus. Mahwah also has a couple of very good restaurants such as Sangria's, Mahwah Bar and Grill, and Roxanne's Restaurant. A famous previous resident of Mahwah is Les Paul, the creator of the Les Paul guitar.
